PCA Missions Pastors Forum

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Missions pastors and directors from across the PCA came together in Atlanta September 22-23 for the second annual meeting. We had nearly 25 men and women present for the two-day event during which we exchanged ideas, shared experiences & lessons learned, and prayed for one another. Several helpful ideas came out of this time for both the missions leaders and for us.

We are already planning next year’s forum, in September, 2009. This time is for vocational (church staff) missions leaders. Contact us with any questions you may have.

Need for Georgia Medical Professionals

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

If you are a medical professional licensed in the state of Georgia, MTW’s Medical Ministry has opportunities for you to make a difference close to home—in your own backyard.

For three long weekends in November, MTW is partnering with Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton, Georgia to reach out to the Hispanic population in that area of North Georgia. As a member of a medical team, you will be able to share the love of Christ right in your own backyard. And you will conclude your weekend by worshiping with the people you’ve ministered to in the clinic. Click here for more information about how you can be involved.

Pastor Amicy reports that only the buildings remain in the compound that serves as his ministry’s hub. Gone are all the medicines in the pharmacy, all the vehicles, a 40-foot container of materials for the orphanage, his library, and some of the compound walls. Some church members lost loved ones while others barely escaped with their lives. And the devastation in Caberet where Pastor Amicy ministers may not be the worst.
